My research focuses on contributing to understanding of how the Juneau Icefield, Alaska, is responding to climate change with a focus on the change in firn volume and extent of Taku Glacier and its tributaries using ground-penetrating radar.
This research effort has brought into question the assumptions that we make using radar to quantify depths and snow water equivalents in a temperate glacial system. I'm interested in analyzing the nature and scale of this observed variability in relative permittivity of the snow- and firnpack to determine water content and movement through the system. And, further, chasing the limits of what our geophysical tools can tell us. PhD in Earth & Climate Science, in progress
